Though Fijians speak English, they have different pronunciations on some words i.e. a word with the letter "b" in it is pronounced as an "mb", like a bure is an mbure; the letter "d" is pronounced "nd" so Nadi is Nandi; "g" is "ng" so Sigatoka is Singatoka and "q" as in Qamea is "ngg" like ngGamea and finally, a "c" is a "th".
When in Fiji, don't forget to say "bula" (hello) and vinaka (thank you) and when you really appreciate something "vinaka vakalevu".
